CDM falls in overtime to #2 ranked St. Margaret's

Junior Logan Ip led the Sea Kings with four goals in a 9-8 OT loss against St. Margaret's.
The Sea Kings dropped a hard-fought game 9-8 in overtime to visiting St. Margaret's. Both teams showed why they are ranked among the top teams in the CIF Southern Section rankings (https://cifss.org/sports/lacrosse/polls/).
The Tartans (8-1) were the #2-ranked team, while CDM (4-2) came into the game in the #6 spot.

"That was a terrific high school lacrosse game," commented CDM head coach G.W. Mix. "The CDM - St. Margaret's game is usually a good one and tonight's fell right in line with the rest of them. Both teams played well. I feel we still have some room for improvement and I'm looking forward to realizing some of that promise. It would have been nice to have a healthy Ty Caffarelli tonight, but that's the way it goes sometimes."

Junior attackman and CDM's leading scorer Ty Caffarelli saw very limited game action Friday night.

Junior midfielder and face-off specialist Lucas Newton had a brilliant night at the dot, winning 80 percent of the draws (16/20, .800 PCT).

Up next for CDM are the Foothill Knights on Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 PM at Foothill HS. The Knights were ranked 4th in last week's CIF Southern Section poll.
