CDM Athletics' Philosophy Of "Building Better Teammates"
The lacrosse coaching staff believes very strongly in the CDM Athletics goal of "Building Better Teammates." The concept behind this plan is to help guide CDM student-athletes through a three-stage personal developmental process:
Stage 1 - Others Do For You
Stage 2 - You Do For Yourself
Stage 3 - You Do For Others
We strongly believe following this progression will prepare our student-athletes for a very successful future in college and beyond. A true teammate is one who has moved on from where he is dependent upon others, through a stage in which he takes responsibility for himself, and on to a place in which the student-athlete is confident enough to be able to lend support to others.
At CDM, we believe the high school lacrosse team is but one of many different types of teams on which our players will participate throughout life. The better prepared our players are to be a good teammates in high school, the greater chance they will serve in leadership roles and experience success on those teams in their future.
